Re: helping people in central Vietnam

Dear followers,

According to Vietnam news, there has been a second flood which carried away all personal belongings and destroyed houses, human lives... etc in Nghệ An, Hà Tĩnh and Quảng Bình’s provinces. The first flood came about 2 weeks ago and caused great ruin and now the residents have to face the second one! This has been the strongest flood in 50 years, residents said. The water level is still high so the people over there are struggling with lack of food and water.

Seeing and hearing about this difficult issue, Đông Hưng Temple in Virginia Beach will have a charity drive to give food and needy materials to the residents of these provinces in the near future. In the spirit of caring and sharing, we’d like to ask all of your help to support this event. The charity drive will take place in early November, 2010 by Thầy Chúc Độ (he is now in Vietnam) and the monks. We will go directly to these places to give your gifts to our fellow country’s residents.

Once again, we’d like to ask your support to help the residents in central Vietnam to relieve their suffering, in the compassionate spirit of Buddhism.
