Welcome to 1st Annual Lotus Cultural Fest on November 7th, 2009
Join us for our 1st Annual Lotus Cultural Fest on November 7th, 2009. Below is the event flyer with details of the event. Please feel free to print out a few copies to share with family, friends, and co-workers!
We will have delicious Asian foods – both traditional and Vietnamese. There will also be yummy seasonal baked goods to have with hot cocoa and fresh brewed Starbucks coffee. Feel like being creative? Join us at the Origami table to watch a demonstration and learn how to make your own origami creation. Or, maybe you would like to make a beautiful, wooden meditation/prayer bead bracelet.
You may also have Buddhist Education Center, Zen monk and artist, Thich Chuc Hoi (sounds like, tik-chook-hoy) create a personalized piece of calligraphy art for you.
Our Silent Auction is one of the most unique you will see around. Auction items include art from both local and regional artists to include hand-crafted jewelry, wood sculptures, paintings, prints and mosaic art. There will also be Tai Chi lessons, Reikki, a Heritage Store gift basket and more! We will also auction beautiful wood sculptures created from Vietnamese artisans and hand painted plates from Thich Chuc Hoi.
There will also be 3 Buddhist chanting performances from Buddhist Education Center, Zen monk, Thich Chuc Do (like, tik-chook-doh) as well as nearly continuous live music from 3 popular, local musicians!! Also scheduled will be a live Tai Chi demonstration courtesy of Bending Tree Tai Chi Center.
So, please come out and join us for this wonderful event! It is sure to put a smile on your face J
