On March 21, 2017, sangha member Ruth shared her experiences and photographs from her pilgrimage to India with her fellow sangha members.  With snacks and beverages, the group enjoyed seeing many of the significant places that the Buddha visited during his life through Ruth’s eyes and experiences.

Ruth organized her presentation in pretty much a chronological order, taking the group from Lumbini, Nepal, Buddha’s birthplace to Kushinagar, India, where the Buddha experienced his Parinirvana.  Along the way, she showed us many of the places where the Buddha taught that we hear when we read the sutras, including Vultures Peak, Jetavana and the Deer Park.

The group thoroughly enjoyed talking with Ruth about her experiences during and after her presentation.  Who knows, she may have inspired one or more in the group to plan their own pilgrimage one day.
