Buckingham, Virginia -- At Satchidananda Ashram - Yogaville, there is a tradition of having an interfaith service on the morning of Thanksgiving Day. This year, as usual,  we gathered at Sivananda Hall to honor all religions and to offer together our prayers of gratitude to God. We were blessed to have a guest clergy, a Buddhist monk of the Mahayana tradition, Venerable Thich Chuc Thanh from the Dong Hung Temple of Virginia Beach, visiting us on this day. When asked  if he would give the Buddhist prayer at the Interfaith Service, he kindly accepted our invitation and offered a beautiful chant. See pictures

In the evening, he was invited to give a Dharma Talk to the Ashram guests and residents.  We very much appreciated his sharing of the Buddhist path and teachings. Through stories and humor, Venerable Thich Chuc Thanh spoke and answered many questions, inspiring us with his openness and  knowledge, delighting us with his joyous energy and irrepressible laughter.

We wish to thank him for all his loving service on Thanksgiving Day at Satchidananda Ashram – Yogaville, and wish him, his fellow monastics, and all the members of the Temple, our love and best wishes.  May the people of all faiths come together in love and prayers to affirm our spiritual oneness and to share the joy and peace with one and all.

Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti.

Swami Dayananda for the Ashram Family,

Satchidananda Ashram – Yogaville, Buckingham, VA
